The streets of southwest Houston gave us a force to be reckoned with on the R&B music scene, Bertell Young. This 24‐year‐old budding star, known by his fans as Bertell, is recognized in the south as one of the hardest working young artists in the industry. It’s through his humble beginnings and overcoming homelessness and adversity that we can truly hear the soul and heart of a genuine artist. This one man‐band has a soulful sound that is reminiscent of Jodeci’s urban vibe, with a twist of R. Kelly, the likeability and talent of Usher and tenacity of Lil’ Wayne all balled up into one. His vocal prowess and lyrics are set to capture the hearts of all age groups. Bertell has collaborated with top artists and producers in the music industry including Bun B of the legendary rap group UGK, Adonis Strophshire, Johnta Austin, Royal Bayyan, Tim Owens, Billy Hume, Lil’ Flip, Dem Franchise Boyz and Grammy winning producer Bryan‐Michael Cox. He has provided urban, sexy sounds as the opening act for R. Kelly, Bobby Valentino, Trey Songz, Scarface, Lil Flip, Mike Jones, Bun B, Chamillionaire and many more. Bertell has graced the stage of the world famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem, NY, received over 1500 radio spins across the South, Midwest and Northeast United States, sold over 18,000 copies of his R&B mixtape “Street Therapy Volume1” and hosted video shows all while being the CEO of his very own label, Upscale Music Group. And his reach goes even further than domestic cities garnering fans in Germany, the United Kingdom, Dubai and other countries across the globe. Recently signed to Capitol Records in a joint venture between Merovingian Music, Upscale Music Group and Grammy award winning producer, Bryan-Michael Cox’s production house, Blackbaby Inc.
