Andy Moor Feat. Jessica Sweetman music video In Your Arms

Born and raised in Birmingham, Jessica and her family have recently moved to Cornwall, and over the last couple of years, Jessica has been singing and wooing audiences regularly at Birmingham restaurants and cafe bars. Her musical story begins in her home town, where she grew up and attended a school which specialised in the performing arts. While she listened to pop music, she began to take notice of her father’s jazz collection and in particular, latest jazz sensation Norah Jones. Her father noticed that Jessica’s voice bore striking similarities to Norah Jones’ and being a musician himself, the two of them began working on a variety of songs, including original songs written by her father and herself. Heartfelt and unpretentious, smooth and sultry best describe the songs Jessica sings. The songs range from jazz, country, blues and pop and Jessica performs them with a maturity that belies her years. Apart from the much loved Norah Jones songs, Jessica has now included into her set, songs by Eva Cassidy, Katie Melua, Diana Krall and Billy Joel; and her jazz rendition of Joel’s “New York State of Mind” has now become one of the highlights of her show and a firm favourite with her audience. Jessica will soon be venturing into the recording studio to record some more original material which her father and herself have penned. They have recruited some first class jazz musicians and Jessica is very excited about the project. She says: “We’ve written some songs which I’m very proud of and a couple of them I’ve included in my set and they’ve gone down really well. The aim is to put an album together and to see what happens.”
